The spacing stays the same physical size across paper formats. All grid lines have the same weight, without bold counting lines.
How large is a 1cm square?
Each square is 10 mm wide and 10 mm tall. Ten adjacent squares span 100 mm, or 10 cm. Each square represents one square centimeter of physical paper when printed at actual size.
Use a larger grid for classroom work
Use the cells to draw rectangles, count area or give handwritten coordinates more room. A 1cm grid fits fewer cells than 5mm graph paper, while preserving a simple metric scale. For printed x and y axes, try the coordinate plane generator.
Print at the right size
- Download the version matching the paper in your printer.
- Open the PDF and select portrait, Actual size or 100%. Disable Fit, Shrink and multiple pages per sheet.
- Print one test sheet and measure ten grid intervals: they should span 100 mm.

Common questions
Is 1cm graph paper the same as 10mm graph paper?
Yes. One centimeter equals ten millimeters. Measure across ten complete squares after printing; the distance should be 100 mm.
Can I add a title, name/date or footer?
Yes. Open this preset in the generator, then enable the optional fields. You can also adjust margins, color, orientation and spacing before exporting a new PDF.
