The spacing stays the same physical size across paper formats. All grid lines have the same weight, without bold counting lines.
What is 1/8 inch in millimeters?
One eighth of an inch is exactly 3.175 mm. Eight adjacent squares span 1 inch (25.4 mm). This grid has twice as many cells across the same distance as quarter-inch graph paper.
Choose the grid for your scale
Smaller squares suit detailed sketches and compact calculations. Label the scale you assign to the cells when drawing a room or object: the physical grid does not automatically represent feet, meters or another real-world unit. For centimeter measurements, choose 5mm or 1cm graph paper.
